Engineers for a Global FMCG Company

The Challenge – attracting the best engineers in a competitive market-place

RB, a global FMCG company which produces some of the world’s most familiar household products, asked us to deliver graduate engineer recruitment. We started our detailed client briefing session and were asked to attract the best chemical and mechanical engineering graduates to its Supply function. The challenge was made more complex by the factory location being relatively remote and the fact that only a very particular type of confident leader with an interest in manufacturing would be successful in the position.

The Solution – activate our large cohort of engineering student headhunters

We briefed those student headhunters on campuses nationwide who had strong personal networks of chemical and mechanical engineering graduates. They in turn identified those friends, course-mates and fellow society members who had the particular leadership quality and personality required, and who were comfortable with the location. We also worked extensively with our relevant departmental and society partners.

The Result – 3 hires made

All the placements were made at the first assessment centre, such was the relevance and quality of the submitted candidates. We now manage the search and selection for two graduate schemes at RB.
