More and more employers are using peer-to-peer recommendations to fill their vacancies

79% of employers use word-of-mouth or personal recommendations to recruit their talent

The latest data from the Department for Education’s Employer Perspectives survey shows that a staggering 79% of businesses rely on peer-to-peer recommendations to find their next hire.

How does this affect graduate recruiters?

As Dr Ball, head of Higher Education for Prospects, found, around a fifth of graduates each year find their jobs through peer networks, such as friends and course-mates. Many employers (all of our clients included) have been harnessing the power of personal recommendations for years.

According to the latest Survey results from the Institute of Student Employers, a whopping 63% of their 200 student employer members who took part in the survey now make use of campus representatives or ambassadors, such as our headhunters and Campus Captains.

How can you harness the power of peer recommendations on campus?

We have networks of over 1,000 on-campus student headhunters, over 600 student societies and over 2,000 departments across the UK’s top 40 universities.

We help dozens of companies every year, from multinational corporations to ad hoc graduate recruiters, build their brands on campuses nationwide using our on campus peer networks.

Meet our 2017-18 Campus Captains!

Our Campus Captains (salaried lead headhunters at the UK’s top 25 universities) are the crème-de-la-crème of our on-campus networks. They know their campuses better than anyone and have persevered through our rigorous US Navy SEAL-esque screening, interviewing, on-boarding and training process this Summer to join this year’s elite team.

Now, with teaching block 1 just starting, they’re ready for action!
